1. The six rules
Everything below is an elaboration of these:
- Be who you say you are. Real name, real photo, real vehicle number.
- Be honest about the journey. Accurate route, time, seats and cost.
- Never drive impaired. No alcohol, no drugs, no driving exhausted.
- Treat every traveller with respect. No harassment, no discrimination, no exceptions.
- Emergency tools are for emergencies. SOS and 100/108/101 are not jokes.
- Consent governs everything. Location, photos, tags, contact — ask first.
2. Posting in the Feed
Post this
- Your own travel stories, photos, reels and live broadcasts.
- Honest accounts of routes, road conditions, stays and food — the things that help the next traveller.
- Accurate location tags and travel dates, so posts stay useful.
Not this
- Nudity, sexual content, or anything sexualising a minor — this is reported to authorities.
- Graphic violence, gore, self-harm content, or content glorifying dangerous driving.
- Hate speech, or content attacking people on the basis of religion, caste, region, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Someone else's photos, videos or writing passed off as yours.
- Photos of identifiable people who did not agree to appear, especially children.
- Spam, mass tagging, engagement farming, or promotional posts for unrelated businesses.
- Misinformation about roads, disasters or emergencies that could put travellers at risk.
Tag people only when they are actually in the post. Hashtags should describe the content, not chase reach.
3. If you're driving
- Licence and papers. Valid licence for the vehicle class, valid registration, valid insurance, valid PUC. Carry them.
- The vehicle you describe must be the vehicle that arrives. Travellers are told to check. Changing vehicles without telling the people travelling with you is a serious violation.
- Never charge a fare. GAMYO has no price field and no payments, because we don't sell seats. Asking for a fare — or advertising one — breaches the Terms and gets the account removed.
- Don't overload. Never carry more people than the vehicle is legally seated for.
- Be on time, or say so early. Cancel as far in advance as you can. Repeated no-shows lead to restrictions.
- Route changes need agreement. No unannounced detours, extra pickups or long unplanned stops.
- Accept deliberately. Every request is yours to accept or decline. Read the profile before you say yes.
- Never leave someone stranded. If a journey ends early for any reason, it ends somewhere safe, populated and reachable.
4. If you're travelling with someone
- Check the vehicle before you get in. If it doesn't match what you were told, don't board — report it.
- Be at the meeting point on time and communicate through the chat thread, not at the last second.
- Honour whatever you agreed privately. GAMYO handles no money and cannot arbitrate it — so only agree to what you will actually do.
- Respect the vehicle. No smoking, alcohol, drugs or eating without the driver's agreement. Damage you cause is yours to settle.
- Belt up, helmet on. Follow the driver's reasonable safety instructions.
- Nothing illegal, hazardous or restricted in the luggage. Ever.
- Speak up early. If the driving feels unsafe, say so, and ask to be dropped somewhere safe.
5. Before every journey — a 60-second checklist
| Do this | Why |
|---|---|
| Read the other person's profile | Posts, followers and ride history tell you who you're travelling with. |
| Confirm details in chat, not on a call | Written confirmation of meeting point and time avoids disputes later. |
| Share the journey with someone | Turn on Live Tracking with a family member or friend before you set off. |
| Save two emergency contacts | SOS is only as good as the numbers behind it. Check they're correct. |
| Match the vehicle | Thirty seconds that removes almost every impersonation risk. |
| Charge your phone | Tracking and SOS need battery. Carry a cable. |
6. Using SOS properly
GAMYO SOS alerts your contacts. It does not dispatch emergency services. In a real emergency, dial 112, or use the in-app quick dial for 100 Police, 108 Ambulance or 101 Fire.
- Trigger SOS — a deliberate 15-second hold — when you are genuinely in danger, unwell, stranded or being threatened.
- Add emergency contacts who know they are your emergency contacts — tell them first.
- Test the feature once, with your contacts warned, so you know what it looks like when it matters.
- Do not use SOS as a prank, a test on someone else, or a way to get attention. False alarms cost real response time and will get an account removed.
- If you trigger it accidentally, tell your contacts immediately.
7. Sharing your location
- Share live location deliberately, with people you have chosen, for as long as you need — then stop it.
- Never ask another user to share their location as a condition of a ride.
- Never pass on someone else's live location or coordinates to a third party.
- Use Revoke All Location Access on the SOS screen if you ever want everything switched off at once.
- Following, waiting for or approaching someone based on their shared location, outside the agreed journey, is stalking and will be reported to law enforcement.
8. Chat and calls
- Keep ride coordination in the ride's thread — it's the record if anything is disputed.
- No repeated messaging or calling someone who has stopped replying, no unsolicited sexual messages or images, no abuse.
- Don't ask for or share OTPs, passwords, bank details or UPI PINs. GAMYO staff will never ask for them.
- Add people to a group chat only if they'd expect to be there.
- Block and report is always available, and using it does not notify the other person.
9. Reporting hazards, places and reviews
Hazard reports are what make GAMYO work. When you report a flooded road or a landslide, that warning reaches the people driving toward it. A false report sends someone on a longer, possibly worse route — and a missing one leaves them driving into it.
- Report what you have actually seen, where you actually saw it. Don't guess a location.
- Report it when it's safe to do so — never while driving. Pull over, or ask a passenger.
- Say when a hazard has cleared, not just when it appears. Stale warnings cost people time and trust.
- Never invent, exaggerate or repeat an unverified hazard, and never report one to divert traffic away from — or toward — anywhere.
- GAMYO is not an official source. For declared disasters, closures and evacuation orders, follow police, NDRF, state disaster authorities and official advisories.
Places and reviews
- Review places you have actually been to, and describe your own experience.
- No paid, incentivised, fake or retaliatory reviews. No review-bombing a business over a personal dispute.
- Report incorrect hours, closed venues, blocked roads or hazards that have cleared — accurate reports are what make the next traveller safer.
- Respect venue rules on photography, entry and dress — particularly at temples and other places of worship.
10. Zero tolerance
These result in immediate and permanent removal, and are reported to law enforcement where required:
- Any sexual content involving a minor, or grooming behaviour of any kind.
- Sexual assault, harassment or threats against another user.
- Driving under the influence with a passenger on board.
- Impersonation, or listing a vehicle you have no right to drive.
- Using the platform to traffic, transport or facilitate anything illegal.
- Stalking or misuse of another person's location data.
- Fraud, phishing or extortion targeting other users.
11. Reporting and enforcement
Report a user, post, message or ride from the in-app report option, or email with the username, the date and anything that helps us find it. If you are in immediate danger, contact the police first — then tell us.
What happens next depends on what happened:
| Level | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor / first-time | Content removed, warning issued, guidance sent |
| Repeated | Feature restrictions — posting, ride listing or messaging paused |
| Serious | Account suspended pending review |
| Zero tolerance | Permanent ban, device-level block, referral to law enforcement |
We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days, faster where safety is at stake.
12. Appeals
If you believe an action against your account was a mistake, write to our Grievance Officer () within 30 days, with your username and what you think went wrong. A person who was not involved in the original decision reviews it and responds. Appeals for zero-tolerance violations are reviewed but rarely overturned.
One last thing. These guidelines can't anticipate everything. If something feels wrong on a journey, trust that instinct — get somewhere safe, and tell us at . We would much rather hear about it early.
